Understanding Hand Building In Pottery

Pinch Pot Method
An easy method where clay is shaped by pressing it between your fingers to create small objects such as cups. It is ideal for children who want to learn.

Coil Building
First, the clay is rolled into long coils. These coils are then stacked to create vessels, vases, and other forms in a variety of styles.

Slab Technique
Clay sheets that are flat can be formed by cutting and joining them to form objects that are well-organized, such as plates, containers, and mugs that have smooth edges.
