What to Expect

Pinch pottery
It is the simplest and most user friendly method. Begin with a ball of clay push your thumb inside the center and gently squeeze the walls to release them while turning. It is ideal for creating small cups, bowls or tiny animal shapes or even decorative objects. Children enjoy this as it is similar to playing with dough.

Coil building
Make long coils of clay and then stack them up and join them to create larger forms like pots, vases or sculptures. This method allows for fluid organic shapes and is perfect for projects with a family that are collaborative one individual rolls the coils, while others stack them.

Slab building
Flat slabs of clay (like rolling dough). Then cut out shapes with tools, then build them into plates, boxes and trays. You can also make ornamental wall hangers. Perfect for creating matching sets for families or geometric designs with sharp edges.

Wheel throwing (Guided introduction)
For families looking for a thrilling experience, we offer time with a teacher on the wheel of pottery. Learn the basics of centering the clay, letting it open and then tearing the walls in order to create basic cylinders or symmetrical bowls. Instructors offer hands-on instruction to help beginners get acquainted with the joy spin of clay.
